Learning Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Bournemouth this September.
This full-time role is perfect for someone who is looking to make a real difference in the lives of students—particularly those with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, supporting them academically and emotionally both inside and outside the classroom. You’ll also assist teachers in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment that allows every pupil to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with SEN across Key Stages 3 and 4

Assisting in the delivery of tailored learning activities
-
Promoting engagement, confidence and emotional wellbeing
-
Managing challenging behaviour and encouraging positive interactions
-
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs and external specialists
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)

A patient, empathetic and resilient attitude
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
A willingness to undertake safeguarding and SEN training
-
A genuine interest in education and pupil development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
