Location: Gateshead
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time
Daily Rate: £90–£110 per day (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work within welcoming and inclusive schools across Gateshead. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and play a vital role in their academic, social, and emotional development.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning
  • Support students in achieving both academically and socially
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and participation in learning

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
