***Lead Practitioner of English, needed for Easter or September start***

Our client School "...are seeking a deeply passionate, inspirational and driven Lead Practitioner of English. This is a new role at the School and you will need a proven record of excellence in your own teaching, indicative of creative, challenging and engaging teaching that gets the very best progress from students. In addition you need to be ready to lead and develop others, using a range of strategies that help to grow and sustain excellence in others teaching.

So if you believe that every child has the right to an education and that all children deserve to have their personalities, talents and skills developed to the full and want to work in a school that has a robust behaviour and rewards policy that enables 'trouble free' teaching and being part of a team on an exciting journey from good to outstanding all sounds like the right fit for you, then we could be the perfect school!

We are a large mixed Secondary School and Sixth Form, part of a large Academy Trust. You would be joining a large team of English staff, led by a team of dedicated curriculum leaders, as well as being supported by a HLTA and a TA. English are on a journey from good to outstanding and it is fair to say this is an exciting time to join the team. With a suite of teaching rooms, an intervention room, our own team room and great resources, English are well equipped to do the job in hand.

As a school and through the academy trust we offer excellent CPD and progression opportunities, enhanced salaries (approx. 5% higher than national) and many other rewards such as childcare discounts in our nursery and half price gym membership to name a few.

We are fortunate to enjoy an astounding school building with superb facilities, but that does not define who we are. What defines us is our very real sense of community as a Rights Respecting School; a togetherness that permeates through daily school life, described by our recent inspection team as the 'heartbeat' of the school. It is what focuses us all on why we went into teaching - to develop children's personality's talents and abilities to the full, to ensure the 'Best in Everyone'. As a leader at the School you will play a pivotal role in upholding those rights."

The ideal candidate:

  • QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
  • At least three years' teaching experience
  • It is desirable that you have leadership or coaching experience focusing on improving teaching.
  • The ability to teach English to A-Level
