Large School in Blackburn require SEN support from September

-Level 2 Qualified Teaching Assistant or above

-Experience working alongside children with lower level learning and special educational needs

-Experience working alongside children in lower KS2, particularly alongside children moving from the infants into the junior department.

A large client school in the Blackburn area, are currently working alongside Teaching Personnel in order to appoint a temporary member of staff for the full academic year. The SENCO in school is the main contact and the brief she has given us is as follows…

Level 2 or above qualified teaching assistant

Recent experience working alongside low level KS2 children

Experience working alongside children on a 1:1 and grouped basis in an education setting

Hard working and committed to supporting children with a variety of learning needs

Academic background with a good command of written and spoken language

A team player - someone who can get on with the staff across the school and work as part of a fun and hard working team

The school is located pretty much in the heart of Blackburn and the majority of children who arrive tend to be from a mixture of social backgrounds. The school is larger than average and with this, their Pupil Premium Funding and the SEN funding they receive; the school has a number of support staff employed through Teaching Personnel who are constantly reviewed and continued in their roles from term to term. This role will be exactly the same. The funding for the child will come through the local authority and be reviewed on a termly basis. With this, you will be given sufficient notice if the funding is stopped. If the funding does stop, there are always other children requiring support in school and the SENCO has said they would be able to offer further work. The working hours for this role will be every day 0900-1430.
