Job description

Inspire Scientific Curiosity and Discovery
A vibrant and high-achieving secondary school in HA7 is seeking a qualified Science Teacher to join its dedicated team. This role is ideal for a QTS-qualified educator who can teach General Science across KS4 and is passionate about sparking curiosity and analytical thinking in young learners.

The Role
You will teach combined Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) to mixed-ability students at KS4. The school fosters a culture of academic rigour and creativity, supported by excellent labs, modern resources, and a welcoming staff team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons

  • Cover topics across all three disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)

  • Prepare students for GCSE Combined Science exams

  • Use practical experiments to bring scientific concepts to life

  • Monitor and track student progress, adapting teaching as needed

Essential Requirements:

  • QTS and a Science-related degree

  • Strong subject knowledge across the science curriculum

  • Ability to manage behaviour and create a positive classroom climate

  • Experience teaching Science at KS4 level

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with AQA Combined Science GCSE specification

  • Confidence in using data to inform planning and intervention

  • Experience supporting students with varying learning needs

  • Ability to contribute to STEM clubs or science enrichment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
