KS2 Teaching Role - Darwen Primary School

Are you looking for a new challenge from Nov. 2019? Would you be interested in working in a GOOD primary school with a supportive Head teacher and a friendly welcoming team? You might be in the right place!!!

A school who have worked with Teaching Personnel for the past 12 months are looking to appoint a temporary member of staff to work as a full time teacher in the KS2 department. The reason for the cover is because the Head teacher is looking to appoint a permanent member of staff from January and so there is a need for a full half term in the KS2 class. As this is a temporary contract through Teaching Personnel, you will be paid directly through the agency and will require full vetting and DBS clearance in order to do so. You will be paid on a weekly basis and the pay will reflect experience and the level of travel to the school.

The School is currently graded as GOOD by Ofsted and the standards for Teaching and Learning are consistently GOOD across school. With this the Head teacher is keen to appoint a teacher in the KS2 department who can maintain these standards and develop the children both academically and socially.

On the main part, the children in school are well behaved and work closely to a behaviour strategy used across school. Ofsted commented that despite the children arriving from socially deprived backgrounds, they still make good progress and enjoy school. The children make good relationships with their peers and the staff in school, which ensures all learners have fun and enjoy learning.

The school also collaborates with a local Diocese and has a GOOD RE inspection. With the ties to the Diocese and the links within the Curriculum, it is important that the applying candidate has good knowledge of the RE Curriculum and is able to uphold the Christian ethos. With most Christian schools, the work with the community and the local families is very important to the development of the teacher-parent relationships. Parents are well informed on the children's next steps in learning and this has helped to bridge the gaps between the children from low socio-economic backgrounds and the other children in school.

This role will be a challenge though! The school take in more than your National average children with special educational needs and 'children in care' as well as the travelling community. This comes with the expectation for the staff to be able to differentiate the Curriculum accordingly in order to meet the individual needs of the specific children in school.

There is lots more to learn about this school and specifically this KS2 teacher role. If you would like to learn more than please contact me in the office.
