Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant, Blackburn

A vacancy has arisen for a passionate and proactive classroom support assistant with recent Key Stage 2 experience, seeking work in the Blackburn area.

The role is full-time (09:00 – 15:30, Mon – Fri) and is due to commence on 8th March 2021 until the end of the academic year. Rates of pay range from GBP10.00 to GBP10.50 per hour, dependent upon experience. The position has arisen to due to a gap in staffing following a move around of staff. 

Role and Responsibilities:

• Administrative tasks, including preparing resources and making records 
• Deliver/ assist pupils with learning activities in line with the KS2 curriculum
• Engage, motivate and encourage pupils 
• Manage behaviour alongside the Class Teacher in line with the school's behaviour policy
• Effectively observe, assess and feedback
• Create classroom displays
• Attend meetings and contribute to the extra-curricular opportunities provided by the school

The school is an Ofsted graded 'GOOD' primary school located on the outskirts of Blackburn town centre. It is one-form entry and caters for a socially mixed catchment area. The Head Teacher and Class Teacher are keen to welcome the new member of staff to their school and their passionate and committed team of support staff. 

In order to be successful in your application for this position, you must hold at least a Level 2 certificate in a subject relevant to the advertised role and a minimum of 6 months experience of teaching/providing support in a Key Stage 2 class. You will also require a child workforce DBS registered on the online update service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
