KS2 Teaching Assistant

 

Location: Tameside M34

Job Type: Full-time, 8.30am-3.30pm

Salary: £13.75- £14.50 per hour

Start date: Monday 8th September 2025

We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and committed KS2 Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with passionate schools in the M34 area, striving to develop children with character, who are driven to achieve to the best of their ability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the class teacher throughout the school day, monitor and record pupil’s progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
  • Work with children on a small group and 1:1 basis, delivering high quality interventions in preparation for summative assessments.
  • Upholding the school ethos and implementing relevant policies including behaviour.
  • Support the class teachers with identifying and addressing gaps in learning to ensure smooth transitions across KS2 year groups.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children (KS2 setting is desirable but not essential).
  • Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistant Certificate). The schools have stated this is desirable but not essential.
  • Has a good understanding of the primary curriculum, preferably KS but this isn’t essential.
  • Is proactive, nurturing and has high expectations with excellent communication skills.
  •  Works effectively as part of a team and builds positive relationships with children and staff.
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
