We are a vibrant and inclusive Primary School that believes every child deserves the best start in life. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking and friendly team. Position: KS1 Level 3 Teaching Assistant
Location: Accrington
Salary: £13.75 - £15 per hour
Start Date: Monday 2nd June 2025

Role Overview:

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the classroom teacher to support the educational needs of children in Key Stage 1. You will assist in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, providing one-on-one support for children with additional needs, and helping to create a positive and nurturing classroom environment. As well as this, you will be required to cover whole class sessions for PPA or course cover.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Provide support to the class teacher in the planning and delivery of lessons.

-          Deliver whole class sessions, working alongside the National Curriculum.

-          Assist in creating and maintaining a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment.

-          Support individual children or small groups, including those with additional learning needs.

-          Help with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and materials.

-          Monitor and record children’s progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.

-          Support children in developing their social and emotional skills.

-          Assist with classroom management to ensure a calm and focused learning environment.

What We Are Looking For:

-          Experience working with young children, ideally in a teaching assistant role.

-          A positive and proactive attitude towards supporting children's learning and development.

-          Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

-          A patient, caring, and empathetic nature.

-          Ability to work well as part of a team.

-          A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential.
