KS1 Teacher
Job description
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Key Stage 1 Teacher to join our welcoming mainstream primary school in Portsmouth from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire young learners and play a key role in helping pupils build strong foundations in their early education.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons, create a positive and inclusive learning environment, and support pupils in achieving their full potential both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum

Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
-
Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching where needed
-
Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and school leaders
-
Build positive relationships with parents and carers
-
Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (ECTs are welcome to apply)

Strong classroom management skills
-
A creative and engaging approach to teaching and learning

High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
-
A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
