About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ECT looking to develop their career in a school that values creativity, collaboration, and high-quality teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
  • Assess and track pupil progress, ensuring that all children reach their potential.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development.
  • Maintain a strong focus on phonics, early reading, and numeracy skills.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and school events.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching KS1.
  • A strong understanding of early literacy and numeracy strategies, including phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc. or Letters and Sounds).
  • Ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
