Year 3 Teaching Assistant – Lancaster
PAYE: £14.25 – £15.00 per hour
Start Date: ASAP or September
Contract: Full-time/part-time (ongoing)
Teaching Personnel are working with a supportive primary school in Lancaster who are seeking a dedicated Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children progress academically, socially, and emotionally. The school can offer an immediate start or will consider candidates looking for a September placement.
About the Role:
You will support teaching and learning within a Year 3 classroom, working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons. The role includes a mix of whole-class support, small‑group work, and targeted 1:1 interventions. You will play a key part in helping pupils build confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting learning within the Year 3 classroom
- Leading small‑group interventions in core subjects
- Providing occasional 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupil wellbeing
- Assisting with classroom setup, organisation, and daily routines
- Helping children develop resilience and enthusiasm for learning
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience working with KS2 pupils (desirable but not essential)
- A proactive, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
