Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant - Reputable Chorley Primary School

A smaller than average Primary School school located on the outskirts of Chorley require a KS2 teaching Assistant to start from after the February half term holidays for the remainder of the academic year. The role will be to work on a part time basis, five mornings per week, from 8:45-13:00. The school were unsuccessful in their search for a candidate to take up this position and so they are using the temporary option to use Teaching Personnel, however there may be the opportunity for a school contract to support this child until they leave the school.

Behaviour in school is considered to be exemplary. There are however a number of children throughout school with Special Educational Needs and so it is important that the applying candidates are confident in applying a consistent behaviour policy. You will be well supported however by the Senior Leadership Team who have received positive comments in the most recent Ofsted inspection in which the school received an overall GOOD grading.

The class in which you will be working is smaller than average, with a mixture of 24 children and a variety of needs. You will be employed to work as a 1:1 assistant but the class teacher will expect you to be actively involved in managing behaviour for individual children across the class. The member of staff who worked in this role previously relocated away from Chorley and so the school have been keen to appoint a new member of staff who can support the children in their academic and social development.
