KS3 Intervention Teacher – English & Maths

Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working alongside a progressive and supportive secondary school in Durham, which is seeking to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic educator to help boost the academic performance of incoming Year 7 students. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils in English and Maths, focusing on closing the attainment gap between Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.

The successful candidate will work with small groups of students who are entering secondary school below the expected standard in English and/or Maths. This targeted intervention programme has a strong track record of success and is now being expanded to support more learners.

About the Role:

  • Delivering intervention lessons in English and Maths at Key Stage 3

  • Providing tailored support to lower-attaining Year 7 pupils

  • Collaborating with colleagues to enhance pupil outcomes

  • Responsibilities can be adjusted based on your subject expertise and teaching background

Ideal for:

  • A primary-trained teacher looking to move into the secondary setting

  • Someone experienced with KS2/KS3 transitions or middle school teaching

  • An individual passionate about inclusive teaching and pupil progress

Requirements:

  • Background in English and/or Maths

  • Knowledge of the KS2 and/or KS3 curriculum.

  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply

Additional Information:

  • Pay rate will reflect qualifications and relevant experience

  • All candidates must undergo an enhanced DBS check

  • Two most recent employement references must be provided
