Individual Needs Assistant – Full-Time Role (Primary)

Location: Shoreham-by-Sea Area
Start Date: September Start
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

We are currently supporting a welcoming, one-form entry primary school located in the Shoreham area, which is seeking a passionate Individual Needs Assistant to join their team this September. About the Role – What You’ll Be Doing:

As an Individual Needs Assistant, you will work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who require additional support with their learning, emotional wellbeing, or social development. You’ll play a vital role in helping children thrive both academically and personally, ensuring they feel confident, motivated, and included.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored support to children with special educational needs (SEN)

  • Encouraging pupils to engage with learning and achieve their full potential

  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour

  • Collaborating with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual support strategies

  • Creating a calm, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for every child


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs or SEN (desirable)

  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A commitment to high expectations and inclusive practice

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
