Humanities Teacher

Location: Preston

Contract: Full‑time

Start Date: May 2026

Salary: From £170 per day (dependant on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and motivated Humanities Teacher to join a successful and forward‑thinking department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ambitious ECT looking to begin their career in a highly supportive environment.

You will deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons that inspire students, foster curiosity, and drive strong progress across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ability to teach one or more specialisms—History, Geography, or Religious Education—is essential.

Key Responsibilities

-          Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS3–KS4 up to GCSE Level.

-          Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.

-          Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the Humanities department.

-          Maintain high expectations for behaviour and uphold strong classroom management.

-          Take part in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole‑school initiatives.

-          Support the academic and personal development of all learners.

What We’re Looking For

-          Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

-          Excellent subject knowledge in Humanities and a genuine passion for your specialism(s).

-          Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

-          High expectations and a commitment to raising attainment.

-          Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students and colleagues.

-          A reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
