Humanities Teacher (History & Geography)
 

Part-Time (2 days per week 8:30 - 3:30pm)
December Start

Pay: Dependent on Skills and Experience

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and resilient Humanities Teacher to join a forward-thinking Alternative Provision in East Lancashire. This part-time position involves teaching History and Geography up to GCSE level.

About the Role:

  • Start Date: December 2025

  • Days: Tuesday and Wednesday weekly

  • Subjects: History and Geography (GCSE level)

  • Setting: Alternative Provision for pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviours

  • PPA time provided during working hours

You’ll be delivering engaging and purposeful lessons to pupils who thrive on practical, creative, and personalised learning approaches. The ability to build strong, trusting relationships quickly is essential, as is a good sense of humour and confidence in managing behaviour positively and effectively.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) – essential

  • Experience teaching History and/or Geography at GCSE level

  • Experience in an Alternative Provision, PRU or SEN setting (desirable but not essential)

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Confident, adaptable, and resilient, with a relationship-first approach

  • A good sense of humour and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed
