Are you looking for a full-time Humanities teaching position?

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a small Secondary Academy in Bury who are currently looking for a Humanities teacher for an immediate start. Due to an unexpected staffing change over the half term break, our client Academy is looking for a teacher who is confident teaching multiple subjects including Geography, History and RE.

  • Full-time Humanities teacher required for an immediate start.
  • Teaching a full timetable across Key Stage Three and GCSE.
  • Pay in line with teaching scale point (GBP24,373 - GBP40,490).
  • Newly refurbished Secondary Academy in Bury with excellent links to training.

Application requirements

  • Must hold subject specific qualifications within Humanities (Geography, History or RE).
  • Both experienced and newly qualified Humanities teachers are welcome to apply.
  • Must hold QTS.

The successful Humanities teacher will be expected to:

  • Support with the development of Schemes of Work in line with the National Curriculum for Humanities.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated Humanities lessons across all three subjects.
  • Prepare lessons to meet the needs of individual learners at various levels of learning.
  • Support pupils with learning difficulties and implement intervention strategies for teaching assistants to deliver.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil progress alongside senior members of staff in order to take appropriate action where needed.
  • Promote positive behaviour management and manage behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policies.

Our client academy is located in Bury and can be accessed via the M60 and A576 from surrounding areas such as Bolton and Salford. For non-drivers, there are several public transportation links from surrounding areas including Bolton, Salford and central Manchester.
