Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Part-Time, Supply | York
Location: York
Contract Type: Part-Time, Temporary (Supply)
Pay: £120–£140 per day (depending on experience)
Are you a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for flexible supply work in the York area? We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced HLTA to join our team on a part-time, temporary supply basis, providing high-quality support across a range of classrooms.
About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an HLTA who enjoys variety and is confident stepping into different school settings. You’ll support teachers in delivering engaging lessons, lead small groups or whole-class sessions, and help pupils achieve their best.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality learning support in line with curriculum objectives.

Cover classes during teacher absence or PPA time.
-
Deliver targeted interventions and small group support.
-
Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
-
Adapt quickly to different school settings and age groups.
About You:
-
HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
-
Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
-
Flexible, adaptable, and able to work across various schools.
-
Experience supporting pupils across EYFS–KS2 (preferred).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
