Job description

THE SCHOOL:

This historic school was first stared in 1957 and is located in the London Borough of Newham (easily accessible by Manor Park train station). The School has nine forms and students ranging in age from eleven to sixteen. Ofsted rated this school as high achieving where "Students take pride in their work and the school-wide literary strategies are highly effective in improving standards in all subjects" (Ofsted 2012).

The school prides itself on teaching students skills for life, offering extensive extra curricular activities such as language, science and sports clubs whilst also working hand in hand with the ELBA charity to help social regeneration in East London.

THE ROLE:

Based in the History department, you will be required to teach history to KS4. Planning, preparing and delivering lessons, ensuring good progress is made by all and providing interesting and stimulating lessons. You will be expected to work 5 days per week, contact time approx. 18 hours per week - the time table is still being finalised.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must hold a UK recognised teaching qualification, i.e. BSc QTS, BA QTS, CERT ED, PGCE, B.Ed

Previous UK teaching experience - History to KS4
