History teacher required close to central Exeter for a full time maternity cover.

Do you have QTS in secondary History and a track record for delivering good or outstanding lessons across the age and ability range? Are you a creative teacher who quickly builds rapport with pupils though an outgoing personality? If so then this secondary school would love to hear from you.

History teaching post, full time maternity cover starting after September, more info below:

History teaching across key stage 3 and GCSE, supportive Humanities department

State of the art facilities including promethean interactive whiteboards

Friendly department and regular CPD/courses throughout the term

Covering maternity for the Autumn and Spring Term initially but could be extended until Summer 2017!

Rate of pay dependant on experience, between £100-£150 per day

This is an average sized secondary school in Exeter. Almost all pupils progress on to further education at the local sixth form college, Ofsted have deemed this as a “good” school with excellent behaviour and management.

As a History teacher in the department you must be fully committed to the role and able to work through to the spring term on a full time basis. You will be given full support by the department who share ideas for planning and delivery of schemes of work, the timetable is around 20 hours teaching per week, you may be asked to cover within Humanities on odd occasions. All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
