Job description

Qualified History Teacher- Walsall 

Start Date: Autumn 2025 


 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Qualified History Teacher to join a secondary school in Walsall. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching History and the ability to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Responsibilities: 

Plan and deliver creative, well-structured History lessons in line with the national curriculum

Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils

Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour through effective behaviour management strategies

Create a positive learning environment where every student feels valued and motivated to succeed

Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider aims and ethos of the school

Contribute to departmental planning, moderation and extra-curricular activities where appropriate

Requirements: 

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Experience teaching History at secondary level

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

Excellent communication and organisational skills

An up-to-date Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

A genuine commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
