History Teacher – Southampton (Full-Time)
Location: Southampton
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for extension)
Salary: £30,000 – £46,525 per annum (MPS/UPS)

Are you a passionate and dedicated History Teacher looking to inspire young minds? Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a committed History specialist to join a thriving secondary school in the Southampton area from September 2025.

About the Role:
This is a full-time teaching position within a supportive and welcoming secondary school. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love of learning and critical thinking among students. The role is suitable for both experienced teachers and strong ECTs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons that cater to a range of abilities

  • Develop and adapt teaching materials to engage all learners

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear feedback

  • Contribute to a positive school environment and uphold behaviour standards

  • Participate in departmental meetings, training and school initiatives

Requirements:

  • UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent

  • Strong subject knowledge in History

  • Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4

  • Excellent classroom management skills

  • A genuine passion for education and student development
