History Teacher
Job description
A highly respected mainstream secondary school in Salisbury is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic History Teacher to join their successful Humanities department on a full-time basis from September 2025.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The ability to plan creatively, inspire curiosity, and foster a genuine love of History in students is essential. The school is particularly interested in applicants who can bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the department, while also being a strong team player with a collaborative approach.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the national curriculum

Assess and monitor student progress, providing targeted support where needed

Contribute to the development of departmental resources and curriculum planning

Maintain high expectations for student behaviour and achievement

Participate in wider school life, including enrichment opportunities and extracurricular activities
The ideal candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an ECT with a strong subject background

Have a passion for History and a desire to inspire young people

Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
-
Be reflective, resilient, and committed to professional growth

Work well within a team and contribute positively to the school community

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
