Location: Chepstow
Position: Full-Time 8.30am – 3.15pm.
Salary: Paid to scale
Start Date: 1st September 2025
About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated History Teacher to join our dynamic team at a secondary school in Chepstow. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching history and a commitment to inspiring young minds. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative lessons, helping students develop a deep understanding of historical events, concepts, and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality history lessons to students aged 11-16.
- Inspire and motivate students through creative and interactive teaching methods.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere that fosters a love of history and learning.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and school events.
- Prepare students for exams and assessments, ensuring they meet curriculum standards.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in History or a related subject.
- Experience teaching history at the secondary school level (desirable).
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for history and a commitment to student success.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
