Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEMH)
Are you a confident and compassionate HLTA looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people?
A specialist alternative provision setting in New Milton is seeking a skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11 to 16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a part-time position, starting in September 2025, with the opportunity for an earlier start for the right candidate. You will support the delivery of tailored learning, help pupils re-engage with education, and contribute to a calm, structured and nurturing environment.
About the Role:

Lead and support learning activities, stepping in for teachers when required

Work with students on a 1:1 and small group basis, focusing on emotional wellbeing and behaviour

Help implement individual learning plans and behaviour strategies
-
Support students with complex SEMH needs to develop life skills and resilience

Foster a positive, therapeutic approach to learning and personal growth

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
