Part-Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Aylesbury Primary School
Location: Aylesbury | Role Type: Part-Time | Start Date: Autumn Term 2025

Are you a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a rewarding part-time role in a supportive and well-established primary school?

We are working in partnership with a fantastic primary school in Aylesbury who are seeking a confident and proactive HLTA to support teaching and learning across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA or an aspiring teacher looking to expand their classroom leadership experience.


The Role:

  • Part-time HLTA position – 2 to 3 days per week (flexible scheduling)

  • Leading lessons in the absence of the class teacher

  • Supporting small groups and individual pupils across EYFS, KS1, or KS2

  • Assisting with planning and assessment under the direction of the class teacher

  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment


What We’re Looking For:

  • HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualification

  • Proven experience working within a primary school setting

  • Confident in leading whole-class teaching when required

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • A reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to support and teaching
