Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Secondary School – Chorley
Start Date: 23rd February
Contract: Fixed term until the end of the academic year
Location: Chorley, Lancashire
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Chorley to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from 23rd February until the end of the academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated HLTA who is passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact on their learning and confidence.
The Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher
- Support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Work with small groups and individuals to raise attainment
- Assist with the planning and preparation of learning activities
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold HLTA status or have relevant experience at HLTA level
- Have experience working in a secondary school setting
- Be confident managing whole-class learning
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
- Be flexible, proactive and committed to supporting students
- Have a genuine passion for education and safeguarding

Safeguarding is a priority, and successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
