Head of Science Required - September 2018 - Merton.

An exciting and fulfilling opportunity exist for a passionate and creative leader to join a talented and committed Science team, at a rapidly improving local authority school in Merton, you will be responsible for the attainment and planning as well as development across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Required for September 2018, we are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious curriculum leader to join an established and dedicated team of Science teachers.

  • Head of Science Teaching role in Merton
  • Experience with KS3/KS4/KS5
  • QTS

As an inspirational individual, you will have proven track record of teaching high quality lessons across the ability range for 11-16-year-old children. You will be responsible for planning and delivering an innovative high quality Science curriculum, and lead a dedicated team of staff. Our aim, quite simply, is to make sure that every child, in every lesson, every day is achieving excellence. That is the heart of what we believe and try to live up to.

The client school is a great place work with close links to the local authority and a relentlessly focused on achieving the highest standard of education for the children of the school. The curriculum leader for Science will work closely with other curriculum leaders and the senior team to ensure success for every child.

We are looking to appoint a colleague who will:

  • Engage, enthuse, motivate and challenge students and staff to raise achievement at all levels.
  • Ensure the smooth and effective daily running of the Science department.
  • Ensure the Science team maintains high standards in Teaching and Learning and student progress.
  • Have excellent subject knowledge.
  • Have a keen interest in developing the Science area with a whole school focus.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
