We are seeking an inspirational and committed Head of Religious Studies to lead and develop Religious Studies across the school at this successful and inclusive secondary school in Northamptonshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious practitioner with strong subject knowledge and leadership potential to shape a high-quality RS curriculum and make a lasting impact on students’ personal, moral, and academic development.

The Role

  • Lead, manage, and develop the Religious Studies department

  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement across all key stages

  • Develop and implement an engaging, inclusive, and ambitious RS curriculum

  • Support, mentor, and develop staff within the department

  • Monitor progress, outcomes, and quality of provision

  • Contribute to the wider leadership and vision of the school

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Proven experience teaching Religious Studies at secondary level

  • Evidence of strong or emerging leadership skills

  • A passion for Religious Studies and values-led education

  • Ability to inspire students and colleagues alike

  • Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and safeguarding
