THE SCHOOL:

This historic school was established in 1935 in the London Borough of Chadwell Heath. Since its inception the school has now become rated as continuously "good" by Ofsted. This school combines the traditional values of discipline, respect and good behaviour with contemporary teaching and technology. All students follow the National Curriculum and can engage in a variety of subjects and extra curricular activities.

Leadership at the school is strong. The head teacher, and the senior leaders, governors and staff, are ambitious for students' success and have worked hard to raise standards by improving the quality of teaching. As a result of this achievement is improving rapidly. This school has an effective curriculum, which meets the needs of students of all abilities and supports their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

THE ROLE:

Heading the Humanities department, you will be required to teach Religious Studies to KS5. Planning, preparing and delivering lessons, ensuring good progress is made by all and providing interesting and stimulating lessons. You will fulfil assigned leadership duties within the Curricular Area as listed; exercise a proactive stance in the development of the Department in terms of the raising of standards, develop all Schemes of Work in the department, review all work of staff in the area and raise standards across the school.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold a UK recognised teaching qualification, i.e. BSc QTS, BA QTS, CERT ED, PGCE, B.Ed
  • Degree in Religious Studies or Theology
  • Previous UK teaching experience - Religious Studies to KS5
  • A can do/proactive attitude
