Head of English role, Pay is between £180 and £230 and is based FULL TIME in Northampton

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Head of English to join a fantastic Ofsted rated 'good' Secondary school in Northampton to teach Key stages 3 and 4, as well as being a leader for others. The role is to assist in leading the English Faculty in ensuring outstanding provision and outcomes, as well as managing the learning environment in and around the English, both inside and outside of lessons. The role is to start come September 2023, kick start your academic year with a great role!

The roles and Responsibilites of the job:

  • Support the Senior Leadership Team in implementing whole school practice.
  • Ensure high quality teaching and learning across the department leading to outstanding academic progress for students.
  • Promote the development of students’ moral, spiritual, physical and social progress in English.
  • Ensure the consistent implementation of robust tracking and monitoring systems in the faculty that accurately identify and evidence students’ ongoing and projected progress in classes taught.
  • Ensure that assessment for learning is embedded in all lessons within English so that students understand fully what they need to do to make the best possible progress
  • Lead on curriculum change in conjunction with the Director of Learning for English
  • Promote the wellbeing of colleagues and staff development.
  • Attend and lead meetings relevant to the role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
