Join a vibrant secondary school in Tameside looking for an experienced English practitioner to cover a one year maternity cover commencing in January.

The school is seeking a dynamic and inspirational individual to lead their English Department and take responsibility of KS4 whilst also delivering a curriculum that is exciting, innovative and diverse.

Responsibilities of this Head of English department role:

• Developing policies and practices leading to high quality outcomes for all students.
• Monitoring the effectiveness of teaching and learning and evaluating the impact on student progression.
• Modelling good practice in Teaching and Learning at all key stages.
• Supporting Newly Qualified Teachers and Recently Qualified Teachers offering support and guidance as required.
• Setting clear expectations and establishing constructive working relationships with students.

• Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Have recent experience in a similar role - Head of Department, Curriculum Leader.
• Have up to knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum.
• Be available for one full year from January 2021.

This 11-16 secondary school is located a short drive from the surrounding areas of Manchester, Stockport and the High Peak and caters to students to a diverse background of students from all areas. For those who drive, the school has a car park accessible for all staff member.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
