SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Schools across Hampshire

Pay: £13.75 per hour (Paid weekly)

Contract Type: Term Time Only, Monday to Friday

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time available - Flexible to you

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and resilient SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistants to work in specialist schools across Hampshire. These settings support pupils aged 4-19 with a range of needs, including:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

  • Attachment disorders and trauma

  • Anxiety or school-based phobias

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN/SEMH

  • Assist teachers with delivering tailored learning programmes

  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment

  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in education, care, youth work, or SEN (desirable but not essential)

  • Patience, empathy, and a calm, supportive approach

  • Passion for making a positive impact on young people’s lives

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
