Secondary School Learning Support – Sunderland Full-time
Perfect for recent graduates in Psychology, Education, Childhood Development, or Sports Science
Join our team of Learning Support Specialists working across outstanding secondary schools throughout Sunderland from September 2025. This position offers exceptional experience for new graduates exploring careers in education, educational psychology, or youth development.
You'll collaborate with classroom teachers to provide targeted academic support, facilitate small group learning sessions, and deliver personalized assistance to students requiring additional educational guidance across Years 7-11.
Your key duties will include:
- Facilitating student progress in both academic skills and social development through classroom and intervention work
- Delivering specialized support across core subjects including English, Mathematics, and Science
- Contributing to effective classroom environments and supporting behavior management strategies
- Offering individualized assistance to learners with diverse educational requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant degree in Psychology, Education, Sports Science, or similar discipline
- Genuine enthusiasm for supporting adolescent learners in secondary education
- Excellent interpersonal abilities and an eager attitude toward professional growth
- Prior exposure to working with children or teenagers (through tutoring, mentoring, community programs, or summer activities)
- Aspirations toward teaching, special needs support, or educational psychology careers

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
