Graduate Teaching Assistants - Sunderland

Graduates of all specialisms required for full-time teaching assistant placements on the Future Teachers Programme.

Teaching Personnel is working with a number of teaching and learning schools across South Tyneside and Gateshead, who are seeking graduates for a year-long placement, where they will take on various responsibilities including teaching assistance, cover supervision and tuition.

The purpose behind this programme is to ensure that we reduce the amount of drop-outs from formal training schemes by providing prospective teachers with opportunities to gain a broader insight into the various responsibilities of teaching.

Candidates are introduced to a school with its own SCITT programme, whilst gauging whether a teaching career is suited to their prospects. Over the year, graduates can expect to develop their confidence and general approach to teaching.

** Applicants must hold a degree or be in the process of completing your degree (final year) and be looking to pursue a career in education **

• Full time Graduate teaching assistant role for 12 months - Followed by introduction to a SCITT programme at a training school
• Places available across the whole of the Tyne and Wear area, including South Tyneside, North Tyneside, Newcastle, Gateshead and Durham
• Opportunities for all graduates pursuing a career in Secondary Education
• Great rates of pay-up to £1000 a month for the first 12 months whilst gaining essential and invaluable experience as a teaching assistant
