Graduate Teaching Assistant - Future Teachers Programme (September 2019 start)
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a lead large Secondary school in Darlington to recruit Graduate Teaching Assistants who wish to begin a teacher training programme in the future, but firstly want to gain additional experience.
Our client school in which this partnership is with is a lead teacher training school and supports multiple schools across Darlington. Any Graduates will interested in this opportunity will have the chance to secure a full time Graduate Teaching Assistant role, prior to beginning your teacher training at an outstanding teacher training school based in Darlington from September 2020.
In line with our Future Teachers Programme, this is the ideal opportunity for any aspiring teachers to secure a Graduate Teaching Assistant position and gain essential experience prior to embarking on a teacher training course.
What is the Future Teachers Programme?
The Future Teachers Programme is designed to help address the teacher shortages across England & Wales by attracting and supporting bright graduates who are considering a career in teaching, but wish to gain practical experience before enrolling in formal teacher training.
How does it work?
Throughout the Future Teachers placement graduate will have the opportunity to secure a teaching assistant role whereby you will work on-site at the school and support pupils in a range of areas and subjects (predominately your subject specialism). This will be a full time role with an allocated school in Darlington where you will undertake a variety of tasks and activities that will give you a good understanding as to the role of a teacher. A significant proportion of these tasks and activities will also benefit your subject knowledge as you will focus on raising pupil attainment, supporting special needs pupils, covering classes, assisting with planning, preparing lessons and developing schemes of work.
