Are you a recent graduate seeking experience within a classroom setting ahead of a future teacher training course? Do you wish to develop your understanding of working with young people within a classroom capacity? If so, this Gradate Teaching Assistant position will be ideal for you.

The Principal and Senior Leadership Team within a large secondary school, based near to the centre of Bury are working in partnership with Teaching Personnel to recruit a team of Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their welcoming staff team from September 2019 (or earlier if available).

  • Full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant, Bury secondary school.
  • Required from September 2019 with the potential for an earlier start for the successful candidates.
  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted rated 'Good' Secondary school - with access to relevant CPD training programmes.
  • Must hold degree level qualifications alongside previous experience working with young people.
  • Earn up to £1300 per month.

The Graduate Teaching Assistant role will include:

Work alongside the class teacher to support pupils with their teaching and learning, across Key stages 3 & 4. The flexibility to support pupils in a range of subjects is essential, either 1:1 or small groups under the guidance of Senior Leadership. The role may also involve supporting pupils during the transition period for incoming year seven students and year 11 pupils in preparation for the GCSE Exams and general cover responsibilities may also apply.

This growing secondary school is based in Bury, Greater Manchester and has just over 1000 pupils on roll, aged 11-16. It is ideally located to be accessed via the M66 and the surrounding areas; Bolton, Rochdale and Salford. The school also has various public transport options with links throughout Greater Manchester.
