Graduate Teaching Assistant

Are you a recent English, Mathematics or Science Graduate wishing to embark upon a secondary teacher training programme in the future? Would you benefit from gaining invaluable experience within a secondary school setting this academic year on a full-time or part-time basis?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large Ofsted graded ‘Good’ mixed comprehensive secondary school near to the Shevington area of Wigan. Due to an increased intake this academic year, the school wish to over-staff core subject faculties to ensure all pupils receive support throughout lessons and recreational times if required.

  • Full-time and part-time Graduate positions available, required ASAP.
  • Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis, covering lessons and planning group revision sessions
  • Full support from class teachers and Senior Leaders at school
  • Earn up to GBP1200 per month whilst gaining invaluable school based experience
  • Located near to Shevington, accessible via the M6 motorway

“We are looking to bolster the support available to all pupils across English, Maths and Science so wish to appoint a dedicated team of Graduates to work alongside our pupils this academic year. The role of Graduate Support Assistant will incorporate working with pupils on a 1:1 basis, covering lessons with pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher and leading group sessions with pupils across Key Stage Three and Four. This position will provide Graduates with skills to ensure they will become outstanding teachers of the future.” Head Teacher

The school is larger than average with over 1,200 pupils on roll. The school aim to ensure that all pupils receive an inclusive education, particularly within the core subjects and by the introduction of a team of Graduates, class sizes will be significantly reduced. The incoming Graduates will have the opportunity to receive continuous training through the school and Teaching Personnel, and will be fully supported throughout the position.

Our client secondary school is situated between Standish and Appley Bridge and has an abundance of public transportation links local to school meaning non-drivers can access the school easily from Wigan, Leyland and Skelmersdale. For Graduates with transportation, the school is near to the M6 motorway and Wigan Road.
