Graduate Teaching Assistant - Leigh

Are you a recent graduate of Maths, English or Science? Do you want to put your Maths, English or Science degree to direct use?

If so, Teaching Personnel are working with a secondary school in Leigh that is seeking applications from core subject graduates and future/aspiring teachers. There will be both full and part-time positions available with immediate start dates.

  • Graduate Teaching Assistants required.
  • Large inclusive secondary school located in Leigh
  • Applicants must have a degree in Maths, English or Science.
  • Experience with children is welcomed but not necessary.
  • ÂŁ57 - ÂŁ65 per school day.

The role is suitable for confident, graduates that have experience working alongside students of the age range 11-16 or for graduates seeking experience ahead of a teacher training course. The school will provide complete support to the incoming staff members to ensure that there is a smooth transition into this role.

If successful in your application then you will be required to work with students in classroom, small group and 1:1 settings. You will be required to use your subject specialism and knowledge to enhance the outcomes of their students and assist with the day to day running of your respective department.

The ideal candidate will;

  • Have excellent subject knowledge and the ability to pass this onto students within the school.
  • A keen interest in the education process and a desire to become a fully qualified teacher.
  • Be confident working with students in large groups.

The school that is seeking to appoint Graduate Teaching Assistant's is a non selective mainstream secondary school located in the area of Leigh. Management and leadership were judged as 'Good' during a recent Ofsted inspection and you will have the opportunity to teach enthusiastic pupils who are keen to learn. Located close to the A577 the school provides excellent transport to areas such as Westhoughton, Atherton, Hindley and the Leigh town centre.
