Future Teachers, Core subject graduates wanted for Secondary Schools

Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of our partner secondary schools in South Manchester who have requested graduates in English, Maths and Science to provide tutoring and intervention support to their students for the 2020/21 academic year. If you have recently graduated in one of these specialisms and currently looking to gain additional secondary school experience before applying for a PGCE in English, Maths or Science this is the perfect opportunity for you.

We have a partnership with two secondary schools in Greater Manchester that offer the Future Teacher programme whereby you undertake a years placement as a Graduate Teaching Assistant before completing a schools direct teacher training programme at one of the partner schools.

What does the role of Graduate Teaching Assistant consist of;

  • Working within an English, Maths or Science department on a part time or full time basis
  • Supporting students alongside fully qualified teachers in the classroom ensuring they reach their expected levels of progress throughout the year 
  • Working with lower level ability students on a small group and 1:1 basis
  • Provided with regular training course and development opportunities

You will be expected to fully submerge yourself within the role as you are responsible for developing the students that you tutor helping them achieve the best possible grades they can obtain. Essential requirements for this role will be a subject specialism in one of the core subjects, suitable references and a fully enhanced DBS certificate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
