Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • Graduate Teaching Assistant required
  • Full-time position starting in November 2019.
  • Temporary employment for the remainder of the academic year.

This is the perfect opportunity if you are a graduate that is considering a career in the education sector whether that is in teaching or a support capacity. Graduate Teaching Assistants working within our client secondary school will also have access to state of the art training, provided direct from the school and Teaching personnel.

Graduate Teaching Assistants are required to be flexible as no working day will be the same;

  • You will be working in mainstream class settings as a Teaching Assistant, ensuring that all students understand the work that is being set.
  • You will support identified students on a 1:1 basis; this could be pupils who struggle to meet the schools behaviour expectations or students with SEN requirements.
  • You may be asked to deliver intervention and catch up groups to students who require additional support in order to achieve their target grades.
  • You will have the opportunity to provide general classroom cover in the absence of the main classroom teacher – This will be fully supported by the school and the perfect experience if you are considering a PGCE application in the future.

This secondary school is located in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. In their most recent Ofsted report they achieved an overall grade of ‘Good’ and are consistently improving. The school is located on the outskirts of Wigan, bordering Warrington which makes for easy access from surrounding areas; St Helens, Salford, Leigh and Chorley.
