Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large Secondary academy in Salford. The school are currently recruiting for Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their support team from October 2019 until the end of the academic year

This position is perfect for a recent University Graduate looking to pursue a career in Secondary teaching, as it provides significant experience before entering into a teacher training programme.

  • Graduates of all specialisms are welcome to apply for this position.
  • Part-time roles available (2-3 days per week).
  • There a number of support roles available including English, Mathematics and Science
  • The role will include working alongside the class teacher in supporting students within the classroom.
  • Gain substantial experience prior to beginning teacher training.
  • Dependent on previous experience, earn up to £300 per week.
  • Work within a large 'Good' Ofsted rated Secondary academy.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant within our client school, responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside children who require additional support including children learning or behavioural difficulties.
  • Working with the class teacher to support the class, as well as covering their absence when needed.
  • Covering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

This experience will boost future opportunities for teacher training applications and may result in a direct school placement, depending on success.

Located in the Eccles region of Salford, our client academy can be accessed via the A580 from surrounding areas of Greater Manchester such as Bolton and Bury. For non-drivers, the academy is accessible via several public transportation links from surrounding areas such as Bolton, Bury and central Manchester.
