Graduate Teaching Assistant

Graduate Teaching Assistant required for a number of 'Outstanding' secondary Schools in south Manchester, including Salford, Trafford, Stockport and Tameside.

Are you a Graduate considering a career teaching students in a subject you have a degree in and have a passion for?

  • Full time Teaching Assistant - September 2019 start
  • Initially required on a temporary basis with a potential 12 month contract on offer
  • Working with students in KS3 and KS4 aged 11-16
  • Gaining experience in different roles of Teaching Assistance
  • Gaining valuable teaching experience to support your PGCE
  • Pay of up to £1300 per month
  • Working hours 08:30-15:00

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, no two days will be the same, working in a diverse position, gaining valuable teaching experience and developing your confidence working in a classroom environment. The majority of the roles available are primarily based on working on a 1:1 basis and underperforming GCSE pupils to raise pupil attainment.

The schools are looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant who;

  • Have a good knowledge on the core subjects (English, Maths and Science).
  • Passionate for working with children and teaching
  • Wants to complete their PGCE and become a newly qualified teacher (NQT)
  • Has previous experience working with secondary aged pupils
  • Ideally have your own transport

The successful Graduate Teaching Assistant will have the opportunity to work in a range of diverse secondary schools that will give you valuable teaching experience to kick start your teaching career. Working in schools in the south of Manchester, offering you regular work in which you will be able to develop a range of teaching skills in a range of different school environments.
