Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel can provide a unique opportunity to graduates to gain paid experience within a school which will help an application for a teaching qualification.
- Roles available and suitable to students/ graduates / aspiring teachers.
- Monday – Friday.
- Temp to perm contract.
- £13.00 - £15.25 p/hour

A school in Leyland, have contacted Teaching Personnel to help them recruit a full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant. The school caters for 11–16-year-olds Generic learning difficulties and pupils with SEMH who display challenging behaviours. Therefore, the ideal candidate must be resilient, have a calm demeanour and have a desire to encourage children to reach their full potential. The school aims to overcome barriers to the young person’s education and help to support students to become more confident in themselves and in their academic ability.
This role will include:
- Supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis who is new to the school.
- Provide academic intervention on the core subjects including English, Maths and Science.
- Mentor the pupil.
- Deescalate challenging situations.
- Provide positive encouragement for the pupil.
- Help them to adapt to the new school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
