What is the Future Teachers Programme?
The Future Teachers Programme is a scheme across England & Wales, designed to help address the current shortages of teachers, by attracting and supporting graduates who are considering a career in teaching, but wish to gain paid school based experience prior to starting a teacher training course.
How does it work?
You will begin your journey to teaching as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, on a full time basis, working at one of our client Primary schools across in the Middleton area for up to a year. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will engage in a range of tasks to get a full feel of what it would be like to be a teacher, from supporting pupils with their studies in small groups and 1:1, to assisting class teachers across all departments including your specialism and getting involved with planning/delivering your own lessons!
Upon successful completion of your 1 years experience as a graduate teaching assistant, you will begin a school based teacher training programme within a lead training school or can then go on to apply for your own PGCE.

Am I eligible to apply for the Future Teacher Programme?
Applicants interested in apply to our Future Teachers Programme are required to be educated to degree level or have completed your degree by Summer 2021. The school welcomes applications from graduates across all subject areas including; English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Psychology, Education Studies, Childhood.
To be successful in gaining a position on our Future Teachers Programme, you must have a genuine desire for becoming a Primary teacher and must also be able to commit to the programme on a full time basis (Monday – Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm) from September 2021 until July 2022.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
