Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education? Do you aspire to become a qualified teacher but want hands-on experience before committing to a PGCE or formal teacher training?

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our Graduate Teacher Programme, working in mainstream secondary schools across Rochdale.

What Is the Graduate Teacher Programme?

This is a structured, paid route into teaching for graduates who are looking to:

  • Gain valuable in-school experience

  • Develop classroom confidence and teaching skills

  • Receive training and mentoring from experienced educators

  • Progress towards a salaried teacher training placement or PGCE

What You’ll Do:

  • Work alongside experienced teachers in the classroom

  • Support students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis

  • Lead parts of lessons and eventually full lessons under guidance

  • Take on the role of a Cover Supervisor when needed

  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities

  • A recent graduate (any subject considered, especially core subjects)

  • A genuine interest in working with young people

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude

  • Commitment to pursuing a career in education

Location:

You’ll be placed in supportive, welcoming secondary schools across Rochdale, gaining real experience in a classroom environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
