Graduate Scheme (SEN School & Pupil Referral Units)

Full time - Long term

Daily Rate: ÂŁ60-ÂŁ65 per day

  • Are you a graduate in Education, Child Development, English, Maths, History, Sports, Psychology or Drama ?
  • Are you looking to kick start your career in the Education Sector ?
  • Would you like to have a paid opportunity to try teaching in a school setting even with minimal experience before taking a step further to potentially become a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or a Qualified Teacher ?
  • Are you currently living/commuting to Cardiff ?

If you can answer yes to all of the above, you may qualify for our Graduate Scheme, aiming to help Grads step a foot in the Education Sector by working as a Support staff within one of our Partner SEN Schools in or around Cardiff.

Thanks to strong relationships built over the years with schools all around South Wales, we are able to cater for different profiles, personalities and ambitions. No matter where you are located, we can guarantee we will be working with schools close to home who are always growing their teams to work efficiently with their pupils, old and new, within mainstream and/or additional learning needs settings.

Applicants must:

  • Have graduated with a 1st, 2:1 or 2:2 degree in Education, Child Development, English, Maths, History, Sports, Psychology or Drama.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
  • Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
  • Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - full assistance provided
  • Provide two professional or character references.
  • Be available to interview and/or trial asap
  • Be living in Cardiff and/or have plans to move to Cardiff in the near future and/or be willing to travel to Cardiff

Whether your aim is to work within Child Development/Psychology on the long run or to potentially undertake a PGCE to become a Teacher, we will be able to place you in an adequate role, involving support with children aged 3 to 11 within a full classroom setting, small group or one-to-one intervention.

All our candidates get paid above National Living Wage and you will not be charged ANY fees on top of your weekly salary. We also don't charge ANY additional fees to register.

How we work ?

We match graduates to teaching positions, having regard to their preferences and suitability. The graduates we introduce to schools for teaching roles exclude those who have not yet demonstrated their suitability. It's largely up to schools & graduates thereafter to convince the other that they are the right fit. Most schools will ask graduates to attend for face to face interview and trials before offering a teaching position. We also offer a very wide range of CPD courses enabling graduates to gain further and considerable knowledge of the Education and Additional Learning Needs sector and add strong value to their CV.

An easier way for schools to organise their staffing :

Growing on a yearly basis and with constant development and studies made on how to support children in the most efficient ways possible, schools need more teachers and are looking for new ways to get graduates to teaching. It is far easier and more efficient for them to use our Graduate Scheme, with all its experience in graduate recruitment, to find suitable graduates for them. Having recruited graduates to teaching positions, it is now in their hands. With right support and development, schools and academies can retain those graduates and turn them into their newly qualified teachers.

If you would like to apply for the Graduate Scheme, please send your up-to-date CV along with a short cover statement. Please email and she will be more than happy to help.
