Teaching Personnel is recruiting graduates looking to take their first steps into education, with opportunities available across secondary schools in County Durham. Whether you're considering a career in teaching, educational support, or SEND, roles as a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant offer an excellent starting point — giving you genuine classroom experience across a range of schools and settings.
Work is available immediately, with both day-to-day and longer-term placements on offer depending on your availability and the needs of individual schools. County Durham schools are actively looking for motivated, degree-educated individuals who can bring fresh energy to the classroom and support students across KS3 and KS4.
What you'll be doing:
- Supervising classes and delivering pre-set work across a range of subjects (Cover Supervisor)
- Supporting students in the classroom on a 1:1 or small group basis (Teaching Assistant)
- Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and student engagement
- Building familiarity with a variety of schools and students across the region
You'll need:
- A degree in any discipline
- Enthusiasm for working with young people and supporting their progress
- Confidence and adaptability in a classroom environment
- Strong communication skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
