Job description

Qualified Teaching Assistant – Durham Secondary Schools

Level 3 preferred, competitive daily rates.

I'm recruiting qualified Teaching Assistants for secondary schools across Durham. If you've got a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) and you're looking for your next role, I'd love to hear from you.

You'll be supporting students who need extra help, working alongside teachers to deliver interventions, and making a genuine difference in classrooms across Durham. Schools are looking for TAs who know what they're doing and can hit the ground running.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 in various subjects
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Working with students who have SEND, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
  • Assisting teachers with classroom management and differentiation
  • Building positive relationships with students who need consistent support
  • Contributing to an inclusive learning environment

You'll need:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in secondary schools (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of SEND and how to support diverse learners
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to helping students succeed
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
